Eidul Fitr likely on June 26

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Eidul Fitr is likely to be celebrated across Pakistan on June 26 (Monday), marking the beginning of Shawwal and the end of Holy Month of Ramazan following 29-day fasting.

According to a statement, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted the sighting of moon of the Islamic month of Shawwal, 1438 A.H. (After Hijra) on the evening of June 25, 2017 (Sunday).

The statement said that the new moon of Shawwal would be born on crossing conjunction point at 07-31 PST (Pakistan Standard Time) on 24-06-2017 which would be visible on the evening on June 25.

A meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to sight the moon has reportedly been scheduled in Peshawar on Ramazan 29 (Sunday, June 25).

The meetings of zonal and district Ruet-e-Hilal Committees would also be held at their respective headquarters at the same time.
