NEC approves Rs 1.514 trillion for uplift projects; fixes GDP growth rate at 5.5% for FY2015-16

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The National Economic Council (NEC) on Monday approved development an amount of Rs 1.514 trillion for uplift projects.

The decision was made during a meeting presided over by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The meeting fixed a GDP growth rate of 5.5 percent for the next financial year.

The development allocation includes Rs 700 billion as federal PSDP and Rs 814 billion as provincial Annual Development Program (ADP).

The growth target for the next financial year for the agriculture sector has been set at 3.9 percent and for manufacturing sector 6.1 percent.

The export target for the FY2015-16 has been set as US$25.5.
