Opposition parties to discuss PM Nawaz’s resignation again today

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The opposition parties could not reach consensus over demanding Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’s resignation over Panama leaks issue.

The opposition parties had on Monday called for investigating Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif first over Panama leaks.

The leaders from all political parties failed to find common grounds in seeking Prime Minister’s resignation. The political parties leaders will meet again today (Tuesday) to discuss all issues.

Earlier, the opposition parties demanded in a joint declaration of the opposition that the accountability should start from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family.

The opposition had rejected the present form of the government’s ToRs. It said that all the names mentioned in the Panama Leaks should be held accountability. It demanded that a judicial commission should be formed over Panama disclosures and necessary legislation should be made in consultation with the opposition.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi had on Monday met a committee formed by the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) over Panama Leaks.

During the meeting, matters pertaining to the meeting of opposition parties were discussed. PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that the opposition is united over Panama leaks investigations.
