Over 65,000 sit entrance test for admission to medical, dental colleges

LAHORE (92 News) – More than 65,000 candidates (41,563 female and 23,592 male) have appeared in Punjab Medical/Dental Colleges’ Entrance Test on Sunday.

The test was conducted by the University of Health Sciences (UHS).

The UHS has deputed more than 5000 invigilators and supervisory staff for the conduct of the test. The test was held simultaneously at 28 centres established in 13 cities of Punjab including Lahore, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Multan, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Sargodha, Gujrat, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Hasanabdal.

Foolproof security arrangements were made in this regard. Police ensured extensive patrolling and technical sweeping of the area before the commencement of the test.

Walk-through gates and mobile jammers were installed at each centre. Restrictions were imposed under Section 144 on the entry of unauthorized persons in the premises of examination centres.

This year, the candidates competed for 3,405 MBBS seats in 17 public sector medical colleges and 216 BDS seats in three public dental colleges of the province.
