PIA operations suspended as strike continues
LAHORE (92 News) – As the protest of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) employees continues against the planned privatization of the national flag carrier, the flight operations came to a standstill.
The PIA representatives at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, Islamabad’s Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport and Peshawar’s Bacha Khan International Airport confirmed that all domestic and international flights scheduled for Wednesday have been cancelled.
Millions of passengers are facing difficulties and serious troubles following the suspension of flight operations.
On the other hand, heavy contingent of police has been deputed outside Lahore Airport to face any untoward situation.
Meanwhile, around 150 children of Army Public School (APS) Peshawar have been deprived of tickets, who had to reach Dubai to watch opening match of Pakistan Super League (PSL).
