Farooq Sattar’s coordinator died in Rangers custody, claims MQM
KARACHI (92 News) – Aftab Hussain, coordinator of MQM’s leader Dr. Farooq Sattar has expired of alleged cardiac arrest while under treatment in Jinnah Hospital today.
The deceased political worker was taken in Rangers custody two days ago. Rangers had acquired 90-day remand of late Hussain on Monday. However, he was shifted to the hospital in the morning today due to bad health.
Speaking to media at the Sindh Assembly, MQM leader Khwaja Izharul Hasan voiced concern over ‘mysterious death’ of Aftab Ahmed in detention and demanded immediate investigation into the matter.
The MQM leader also demanded formation of a medical board to probe the death reason.
Meanwhile, MQM’s Wasay Jalil also tweeted about death of their activist, saying he died during ‘Ranger’s custody’.
Ahmed was detained by law enforcers during a raid near MQM headquarters Nine Zero on Sunday evening.
Funeral prayer of the deceased will be offered at 5pm in Numaish Chowrangi.
