9 terrorists killed, 4 security official injured in Mastung operation
QUETTA (92 News) – Nine terrorists were killed while four security officials were injured in a Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) operation at Mastung area of Quetta on Thursday.
According to the details garnered, the joint forces of CTD and law enforcement agencies raided a suspected terrorist hideout on an intelligence tip off in Qaboo Koh-i-Mehra area of Mastung district. It was reported that an exchange of fire between suspected militants and security forces continued many hours.
The enemy of peace showed resistance but the security forces completed operation successfully. However, the four terrorists killed during the operation while four security forces personnel were also injured in the operation.
The rescue teams reached on the scene and they shifted the injured persons to CMH and FC Hospital Quetta for treatment where they are reportedly in a stable condition.
Meanwhile, the security forces completed the search operation and cleared the hideouts of suspected militants in the Mastung area. The residents harassed due to the operation. The CTD said that a huge quantity of arms and ammunition were discovered from terrorists’ possession.
The bodies of terrorists have been shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta for identification.
Following Gwadar attack, the Balochistan government has tightened security across the province. Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal chaired a high-level meeting to review security arrangements in Gwadar and other parts of the province.
Clearance operation concluded in Gwadar hotel
The security forces concluded the clearance operation after a joint operation conducted by the armed forces at Pearl Continental hotel in port city of Gwadar.
According to the Inter-Service Public Relation (ISPR) on Sunday, five people including four hotel employees and a Pakistan Navy soldier embraced martyrdom during the operation.
“Two Pakistan Army captains, two soldiers of Pakistan Navy and two hotel workers sustained wounds in the terrorists’ attack,” the ISPR said. It added that three terrorists have been killed by military troops during the clearance operation and their dead bodies were taken into custody for identification.
The ISPR further revealed that the terrorists had entered the hotel with a plan to make all guests inside PC as hostage but they were stopped by security guard at the central gate.
The terrorists had attempted entry into the hotel aimed at targeting or taking hostage the guests present there but the security guard at entry challenged terrorists denying them entry into main hall and terrorists went to staircase leading to upper floors.
The security guard Zahoor was martyred and later the terrorists opened heavy fire at the central gate of the hotel which killed three hotel employees. The deceased persons were identified as Farhad, Bilawal and Owais.
