Karachi, Sukkur airports to remain closed for all flight operations from 24th

KARACHI (92 News) – In the wake of a complete lockdown in Sindh due to coronavirus, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) decided to close Jinnah International Airport, Karachi and Sukkur Airport for all domestic flights. Jinnah International Airport, Karachi and Sukkur Airport will remain closed for all types of domestic incoming/outgoing flight operations with effect from Tuesday (March 24), according to a NOTAM issued by the CAA. Earlier, on March 21, the federal government had suspended all international flights coming into Pakistan for two weeks. All incoming international flights have been suspended for two weeks with effect 8 pm Saturday. The number of novel coronavirus cases has risen to 799 with 147 more COVID-19 cases reported in the country over the last 24 hours. 352 cases have been surfaced in Sindh, 225 in Punjab, 104 in Balochistan, 31 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 71 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 15 in Islamabad; and one in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. So far a total of five coronavirus-related deaths have been reported while five patients have recovered. Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has announced that the province will go into a two-week lockdown at midnight tonight.
