ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that Pakistan wants peace and stability in the region. Addressing the virtual session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Friday, he said that India has been occupying Jammu and Kashmir against the wishes of the Kashmiris for the last 72 years. “India has deployed 900,000 troops to besiege eight million Kashmiris. On August 5 last year, India illegally changed the status of Occupied Kashmir. It tried to eliminate the identity of the Kashmiris. About 13,000 Kashmiris have been kidnapped. Indian troops are returning the bodies of Kashmiris after martyring them,” he declared. Prime Minister Imran Khan demanded the international community to take notice of the Indian serious violations of human rights and take steps to stop Indian atrocities against innocent Kashmiris. “Right to self-determination is being suppressed through military occupation and expansionist steps,” he added. He said: Unluckily, the RSS ideology dominates India. Only India across the world is fomenting Islamophobia. The RSS founder was impressed by the German Nazis,” he said. The prime minister said that his all policies are for the betterment of the masses. “Pakistan wants to live with her neighbours peacefully,” he said. He said that the future generations face a threat from climatic changes. He emphasized the need for implementing the Paris accord. Imran Khan said the Pakistan government and people support the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination. “We envisage ‘Naya Pakistan’ to be modelled on the principles of the State of Madinah, established by our Holy Prophet (PBUH).” He said: I call upon this Assembly to take the lead in efforts to build a global framework to stem the illicit financial flows and ensure speedy repatriation of stolen wealth. This Assembly should declare an “International Day to Combat Islamophobia” and build a resilient coalition to fight this scourge – scourge that splits humanity.” He said that the Palestinian issue is still a simmering wound. “I appeal to the UN secretary to come forward for the resolution of the international disputes,” he concluded.
