People forced to migrate as draught again hits Cholistan

BAHAWALPUR (92 News) – Over two million people and 20 million livestock are facing severe dangers after draught again hitting Cholistan spreading over 450 kilometers. Locals said that people have started migrating to adjoining cities to evade the draught. They said that over 1,200 ‘tobas’ (ponds) have turned dry in Gopali, Kotana, Kasaiwala, Chachran, Keema, Chashma, Bhadan and other areas. They said that the previous government had announced development fund of Rs 2.37 billion that could not reach to the residents. They said that the people were still waiting for the announced fund.
