10 more coronavirus cases surface in Sindh, patients increase to 18 across country

KARACHI/ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Following detection of 10 more coronavirus cases in Sindh, total number of patients has increased to 18 across the country. One of the patients has recovered after treatment, while other patients are being treated in different hospitals. Meanwhile, the Sindh Health Department has refused the entry of irrelevant people to the office. The spokesman for the Sindh government said that the situation regarding the coronavirus is under control. Addressing a meeting of the Emergency Core Group in Islamabad, Special Assistant to PM on Health Zafar Mirza said that the government is ready to deal with any emergency. He said that so far 18 coronvirus cases have been confirmed. “We are ensuring all necessary measures to deal with coronavirus. The federal government and provinces are taking coordinated steps. We have devised a comprehensive strategy for the passengers from abroad,” he said. Zafar Mirza said that the patients undergo screening after 14-day quarantine. “The data of patients from abroad is given to the provincial government. A coordinated system of screening is available at Torkham Border,” he said. He said that they are jointly working taking it as national emergency. “We took steps on time to control coronavirus and issued SOPs for clinical guidelines,” he said.
