LAHORE (92 News) – The Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board (PCTB) has banned 100 books of 31 publishers carrying objectionable content. Addressing a press conference on Thursday, PCTB Managing Director Rai Manzoor Nasir said that the banned books carried incorrect date births of the Quaid-e-Azam and Dr Allama Iqbal. He said that the books also carried derogatory content about the holy personalities. “Moreover, the books had shown Azad Jammu and Kashmir in the map of India. One of the books had a saying of Mahatma Gandhi,” he said. Rai Manzoor Nasir said that they had taken action against big publishers for publishing incorrect syllabus. “The use and sale of these books have been banned across the province,” he said. He said that no private school can use these books without approval by the law. “Now a fee will be charged for the approval of books. We will waste these books. FIRs will be registered if the stock of these books was not wasted,” he added.
