10th death anniversary of information technology professional Arfa Karim being observed today

FAISALABAD (92 News) – The tenth death anniversary of young information technology professional Arfa Karim is being observed on Friday.

The certified professional was born in Faisalabad’s Ram Divali area and she became an Information Technology specialist. Microsoft’s founder Bill Gates conferred the degree on her in 2005.

She was the world's youngest Microsoft Certified Information Technology Professional in 2004 at the age of 9. She was also awarded Pride of Performance, Salam Pakistan Youth and Madar-e-Millat awards. She died due to cardiac arrest.

Lahore's IT Tower has been named after Arfa Karim to pay tribute to the young professional.
