LAHORE (92 News) – At least 116 police officers including who were involved in the Model Town massacre have been removed from their posts on Wednesday. According to the details, the sacked police officials including deputy superintendent of police, inspectors and investigation incharge have been directed to report police line. It was reported that the four SPs already removed from field postings for Model Town massacre. The sacked officers are consisted Mian Shafqat, Mian Younis, and Rizwan Qadir. Sheikh Amir Saleem, Ehsan Ashraf Butt and Abdullah Jan were also removed from the posts of SHOs. On June 17, 2014, Punjab police went to remove the barriers placed outside PAT Chief Dr Tahirul Qadri’s residence and MQI Secretariat in Model Town. The MQI workers resisted the move which led to a deadly clash leaving 14 workers dead and dozens injured.
