12 drown as floods wreak havoc across Pakistan

LAHORE (92 News) – Seven people drowned in Rojhan and Muzaffargarh while migrating to safer places, while floods have started wreaking havoc across country after the monsoon rains. Several residential areas and hundreds acres of crops were inundated due to floods in Indus, Jhelum, Sutlej and Chenab rivers. Hundreds of houses and several bridges were washed away while three people drowned due to a flood in the Chitral River. Meanwhile, the FC personnel rescued the people besieged in flood water in Zhob, Balochistan. Two youths travelling to Karachi from Thattha drowned into the river. In Azad Jammu and Kashmir, hundreds of acres of crops were destroyed due to flood in nullahs after torrential rains. Several link roads have been blocked by land sliding. Meanwhile, the Flood Forecasting Division has warned that a flood of 200,000 cusecs is likely to pass through the Kabul River during the next 24 hours.
