PESHAWAR (92 News) A gas cylinder explosion at a roadside cafe near Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) in Peshawar on Saturday left 12 people injured.
According to Rescue 1122 spokesperson Bilal Ahmed Faizi, emergency responders were quickly dispatched to the scene, where they controlled the fire and transported the injured to KTH for medical care. Hospital sources confirmed that the injured are receiving treatment for their injuries.
The explosion, believed to have been caused by a gas leak, resulted in significant damage to the cafe, with walls and windows shattered.
This incident follows a series of gas explosions across Pakistan, including one in Balochistan's Pishin district that injured seven people, raising urgent concerns over LPG cylinder safety.
Authorities are calling for stricter regulations on LPG handling and sales, while Rescue 1122's swift response has been praised for minimising the damage and providing immediate medical care to the victims.
