12,000 officials of Sindh police involved in crimes: report

KARACHI (92 News) – As many as 12,000 officials of the Sindh police are involved in crimes, tells a report on violation of rules and regulations in the department. The Chief Secretary Sindh and Home Department Sindh have submitted the report to the Supreme Court. Action has been initiated against the officials involved in crimes. According to the report, five SPs of the Sukkur Range are among high-ranking officials involved in criminal activities. Meanwhile, action has been recommended against 31 officers of BS-17 and 35 officers from BS-18 to 21. The report says officers of BS-16 and below have been penalized. DSP Nisar Ahmed Barohi faces the charge of appointing 131 policemen illegally. He has been compulsory retired. DSP Shakeel Ahmed Sarfraz has been demoted for keeping a citizen in illegal custody. Proceedings against DSP Chaudhry Liaquat Ali are underway for misconduct. In addition, DSP Ghulam Rasool Panhawar has been demoted to the rank of an inspector for misconduct.
