RAWALPINDI (92 News) - The police re-arrested eight accused, out of total 13, involved in the May 9 incidents who were released on the orders of the Supreme Court.

The police re-arrested eight accused soon after their release from Adiala jail. They have been detained under section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO). The Rawalpindi deputy commissioner had issued the orders.

In the written order, the Supreme Court ruled that the accused faced the allegations of general nature. "Luckily, neither any person was injured in the arson nor any weapon could be recovered from them," it ruled.

The court ruled that the accused had been under arrest since May 10. "Apparently there is no evidence that the accused could be detained for an indefinite period. The accused should be released on bail if they are not wanted in another case," it ordered.
