131 cases of dengue reported in Punjab during last 24 hours

LAHORE (92 News) – The dengue fever cases are continuing to increase across Pakistan as only 131 cases of dengue reported in Punjab during last 24 hours on Monday. According to the reports, as many as 131 cases of dengue virus were detected in the last 24 hours across Punjab as 115 cases reported from Rawalpindi. The death toll due to dengue illness has been soared in the province in the last two months. Meanwhile, 44 people from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) were also admitted in the hospital and the number of patient in the province increased to 5,229. Earlier, one more dengue fever patient died at the Holy Family Hospital in Rawalpindi. 60-years-old dengue patient, under-treatment in Holy Family Hospital, died as raising the death toll from the deadly disease in twin cities. However, death toll due to dengue mosquito rises to 34 while dengue epidemic persists in other parts of Pakistan including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Lahore. Dengue is out of control in Rawalpindi. In the last 24 hours, 157 more people have been diagnosed with dengue, while 21 patients from Islamabad have been transferred to Rawalpindi, after which the total number has risen to 7,582. Lahore has received 33 new dengue patients in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 285 patients. Three more patients were admitted to Nishtar Hospital in Multan after which the number of dengue victims in Multan has increased to 25. The number of victims has risen to 134 after three more patients were admitted to Allied Hospital in Faisalabad. So far two patients have passed away in Faisalabad due to dengue virus. In Rahim Yar Khan, five dengue patients, including a baby girl, were shifted to hospital where the number of affected patients has exceeded 535.
Federal govt decides to investigate dengue outbreak
Earlier, the federal government has decided to investigate into the outspread of dengue fever among citizens from international institutions. According to the sources, the federal government has decided to contact global institutions for holding an investigation into dengue spreading fast across the country.
