74 killed in suicide blast after murder of Balochistan bar president

QUETTA (92 News) – As many as 74 people, including lawyers leaders, were killed while over 104 others injured in a suicide attack and gun fire on the people bringing body of the slain Balochistan Bar President Bilal Kasi to Civil Hospital, Quetta, on Monday. A large number of lawyers had gathered at Civil Hospital’s Emergency Ward after the murder of Baluchistan Bar Association president Bilal Kasi when the suicide bomber reached there and blew himself up. Bilal Kasi was on the way to court from his house when unidentified gunmen shot him dead on Mannu Jan Road, the police said. Witnesses said that they had also heard the gunfire in Civil Hospital. Emergency has been imposed across the city after the tragedy. The head and other body parts of the suicide bomber were found from the site. According to preliminary investigations, eight kilograms of explosive material was used in the blast. Security has been tightened across the province after the blast. Security forces have launched a search operation after the blast.
