19-year-old girl gang-raped, tortured in Bahawalpur

BAHAWALPUR (92 News) – A 19-year-old girl was gang-raped in Chak 7/BC, Bahawalpur on Sunday. The victim was returning to her home after attending a wedding ceremony when three people kidnapped her. They took her to nearby bushes and raped her. They also tortured her. She called at 15 for help, but the police did not respond to her call. The victim has appealed to Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, IGP Punjab Inam Ghani and the Bahawalpur RPO to provide her justice and protection. In another incident, a 16-year-old girl was raped in Abdullah Shah Jhang Village, Depalpur. The police could not arrest the accused despite registration of the case. The victim family has appealed to the Okara DPO to provide them justice.
