2 military courts set up in Malir Cantonment

KARACHI (92 News) – Two military courts were established in Malir Cantonment on Monday. Lt-Col Irfan Ishtiaq will preside over the Court No 1 while Maj Farrukh Altaf will be its prosecutor. The Court No 2 will be headed by Lt-Col Shafiq Ahmed and Zeeshan Sharif will be its prosecutor. Sources said that both courts will start hearing the cases next week. The appointed officers belong to the School, Medical and Engineering Corps. As many as 164 cases will be sent to the military courts by the Sindh government after approval from the federal government. On the other hand, the Tahaffuz-e-Pakistan Act Court has been established in the light of the decision of the Sindh Apex Committee. Mushtaq Leghari will be head the court. After the establishment of the court, Rangers or police will be able to keep an accused in their custody for 90 days.
