KARACHI (92 News) – Nine people, including three doctors, tested positive for coronavirus in Karachi’s Jinnah Hospital on Saturday. According to a report issued by the National Health and Emergency Service, 24 health workers tested positive for coronavirus during the last 24 hours. As result, total number of health workers affected by coronavirus has risen to 736. As many as 422 doctors have been affected by COVID-19 while 184 workers have been affected by coronavirus in Punjab, 186 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 134 in Sindh and 71 in Islamabad. According to the report, the number of affected nurses has increased to 104. So far 11 medical staffers have died of coronavirus. Meanwhile, 164 healthcare workers defeated coronavirus and have been discharged from hospital while 203 people related to the medical profession are being treated in different hospitals. 358 people have been quarantined in their houses and other places. On the other hand, Young Consultants Association chairman Dr Asfand Yar has once again demanded the government ensure protective items. He also asked the government to review the decision to ease the lockdown. “Cases are likely to increase after opening of the OPDs,” he added.
