Govt faces resistance before submitting Kulbhushan’s revised ordinance to ICJ

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The federal government on Thursday faced resistance before submitting the ordinance regarding appeal of Indian RAW spy Kulbhushan Jadhav to the International Court of Justice. A revised ordinance of Kulbhushan Jadhav has been presented in the today’s session of National Assembly (NA). The law ministry has tabled the ordinance under Article 89 of the Constitution after which a rumpus erupted due to protest of opposition parties. Addressing the House, Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the PTI govenrment is giving National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) to Indian spy despite his confession. “Giving NRO to Kulbhushan is part of this agenda. Our conscience does not satisfy,” Bilawal Bhutto said while pointed out the quorum and the opposition walked out of the lower house. Earlier, the Ministry of Law and Justice moved IHC for appointment of legal representative for Indian RAW spy Kulbhushan Jadhav. According to details, the federal government filed an application to meet requirements of the fair trial. It has been requested to appoint a legal representative for Kulbhushan Jadhav in the national interest. The government side has filed the petition under the Presidential Ordinance. The federation through defence secretary and judge advocate general branch GHQ has been made party in the plea. The petition stated that Kulbhushan, who was involved in several terrorist activities in Pakistan, has refused to file plea against his sentence.
