LAHORE (92 News) – The 32nd death anniversary of renowned revolutionary poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz is being observed today (Sunday).
Faiz was identified as an opponent of former prime minister Liaquat Ali Khan's government in the Rawalpindi conspiracy case, along with the left-wing military sponsor Major-General Akbar Khan.
The work of Faiz Ahmad Faiz remains influential in Pakistan literature and arts. His literary work was posthumously publicly honored when the Pakistan Government conferred upon him the nation's highest civil award, Nishan-e-Imtiaz, in 1990.
A three-day Faiz International Festival is also being held in Alhamra, Lahore to remember the great poet.
