3,318 terrorists killed, 339 officers & jawans martyred in Operation Zarb-e-Azb: briefing
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – As many as 3,318 terrorists have been killed, while 339 officers and jawans martyred during the ongoing Operation Zarb-e-Azb.
This was disclosed in a briefing given to a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Defense on Thursday.
The meeting was presided over by National Assembly Standing Committee on Defense Chairman Shaikh Rohail Asghar.
Secretary Defense Lt-Gen (retd) Alam Khattak told the committee that a ground operation had been launched in Shawal. “It is a difficult operation. However, the morale of jawans is high.”
The committee was told that law and order had improved due to the Operation Zarb-e-Azb.
Talking to the media after the meeting, Shaikh Rohail Asghar said that ‘Daish’ was gaining momentum, which was a matter of concern. “The tribal areas will not be left vacant after the operation,” he added.
The committee approved a resolution against Indian aggression at the Line of Control and the Working Boundary.
