34 deaths reported in a day as second wave of coronavirus intensifies

As many as 1,808 people fell prey to the COVID-19 pandemic during the last 24 hours. As a reult, total infections have risen to 349,992. 

There are total 152,072 cases in Sindh, 108,221 in Punjab, 41,258 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 22,765 in Islamabad, 16,226 in Balcohistan, 5,041 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan in 4,409.

On the other hand, Lahore Additional Sessions Judge Azfar Sultan died of coronavirus. In Burewala, Sub-Inspector Arshad Javed died of coronavirus. He was performing his duty at Sahulat Bazaar where he contracted the infection. In Kabirwala Tehsil Headquarters, four doctors and three paramedics also tested positive. 

Meanwhile, Punjab Minister for Fisheries Syed Samsam Bukhari also tested positive for coronavirus. He has quarantined himself in his house. 

On the other hand, the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) has ordered to immediately close cinemas, theaters and shrines due to the second wave of coronavirus.

The meeting discussed and recommended a ban on public gatherings of over 500 persons in the country. It was also ordered to close restaurant till 10pm but takeaway will be allowed after given time.

The federal and provincial officials briefed the meeting that the rate of positive cases continuously rising in the educational institutions. The session decided that the education minister will chair high level meeting on November 16, which will review and take decisions over the situation of the disease in academic institutions.
