36-inch diameter gas pipeline explodes in Sadiqabad

SADIQABAD (92 News) – A 36-inch diameter main gas pipeline, supplying gas to Punjab from Sindh, exploded near Nawazabad in Sadiqabad. According to the rescue, the gas pipeline caught fire after an explosion in Sadiqabad which has been controlled now. Two fields were completely burned by the fire and the pipeline was coming to Punjab from Sindh’s Qadirpur. After the fire, the gas main valve was closed which had a pressure of 900 to 1000 Pounds per square inch (PSI) while the bomb disposal squad and police surrounded the area. The officials stated that the inferno erupted at the main gas pipeline near Sadiqabad which quickly engulfed nearby sugarcane fields. The emergency has been declared in the district and residents of the nearby localities have been asked to vacate their homes and shift to safer places.
