40 Pakistan army brigadiers promoted to major general

RAWALPINDI (92 News) – 40 brigadiers of the Pakistan Army were promoted to the rank of major general, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday. The approval for the promotions was given by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at an army promotion board meeting held at GHQ. The ISPR said that those promoted to the rank of major general include 11 brigadiers from the Pakistan Army Medical Corps. According to ISPR, the promoted officers include Zafar Iqbal Marwat, Shakirullah Khattak, Muhammad Owais Dastagir, Aamir Naveed, Muhammad Ijaz Mirza, Tabassum Habib, Muhammad Shujah Anwar, Dilawal Khan, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Asif Mehmoof Goraya, Kamal Asfar, Muhammad Ali Khan, Kashif Azad, Majid Jahangir, Azahr Waqas, Akif Iqbal, Omer Ahmed Bukhari, Muhammad Ahsan Khattak, Inayat Hussain, Adil Yamin, Muhammad Hasan Khattak, Muhammad Aamir Najam, Muahamma Aqeel, Kamran Satti, Syed Imdad Hussain Shah, Kashif Zafar, Khurram Anwar Qadri, and Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry. Prerogative of weapons use rests with state alone: Gen Bajwa
The 220th Corps Commanders’ Conference has reiterated to continue its efforts for bringing enduring peace in the country while supporting all initiatives towards regional peace.

According to ISPR, the conference was held in Rawalpindi today (Tuesday) with Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa in the chair.

The conference also expressed its resolve to support government and all stake holders in implementation of National Action Plan. It also reviewed geo-strategic environment and ongoing situation along Eastern Border. The geo-strategic environment and the ongoing situation along the eastern border was reviewed at the meeting, which expressed strong will, resolve and determination to defend the motherland against any misadventure of aggression. The forum also reiterated resolve to continue its efforts for bringing enduring peace in the country while supporting all initiatives towards regional peace, the statement added. Addressing the conference Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa said, “Having achieved stability against terrorism, Pakistan is on positive trajectory of becoming a state where prerogative of use of weapons rests with the state alone and socio-economic development is taking preeminence.”
