40 tourists trapped due to road blockage in Abbottabad

ABBOTTABAD (92 News) – About 40 tourists were trapped due to blockage of Murree Road after an avalanche fell on it at Kandala on Thursday. The 40-foot avalanche could not be cleared till now. Sources said that the trapped tourists are being shifted to nearby houses and mosques. They added that over 80 vehicles are also trapped due to the road blockage. A heavy contingent of police with heavy machinery reached the spot. Efforts are going on to clear the road. Meanwhile, the Met Office has predicted that mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, light rain (with light snowfall over the hills) is expected at few places in Malakand division, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Dense foggy conditions are likely in plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during night and morning hours.
