48 doctors in Punjab teaching hospitals resign due to coronavirus

LAHORE (92 News) – As many as 48 doctors in Punjab teaching hospitals have resigned due to the increasing cases of coronavirus cases across the province. According to the reports, 32 doctors were from Lahore among those 48 who have resigned from their jobs. The Department of Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education has issued a notification of resignation in this regard. The resigning doctors include 14 from Mayo Hospital, 6 from Children s Hospital, 3 from General Hospital, 2 from Services and 2 from Lady Aitchison. Besides, two doctors from Government Nawaz Sharif Yaki Gate Hospital have resigned. One doctor each from Kot Khawaja Saeed Hospital, Shahdara Teaching Hospital and Mian Munshi Hospital have also resigned. Doctors from hospitals in Faisalabad, DG Khan, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan and Gujranwala have also quit their jobs. The Punjab government has accepted the resignations of doctors and issued a new notification. According to Punjab Health Department sources, many doctors resign every year due to various domestic and other reasons.
