5-year-old girl’s body found from drain after 19 hours

KARACHI (92 News) – The body of a five-year-old girl, who drowned in a drain, was found after 19 hours ago. Funeral prayers for her were offered. Later, she was buried in a local graveyard. Zareena drowned while playing along the drain on Monday. Razkars made hectic efforts to recover the girl while the district administration played the role of a silent spectator. UC chairman Lala Abdur Rahim said that they repeatedly filed applications to remove encroachments from the drain, but to no avail. Locals said that several accidents had occurred due to the drain, but each time they had to carry out rescue operation on self-help basis.
