51 flights cancelled as PIA-PALPA row intensifies

KARACHI (92 News) – As many as 51 flights have been cancelled so far due to ongoing row between PIA, the national flag carries, and the Pakistan Airline Pilots Association (PALPA). Hundreds of passengers faced problems due to cancellation of nine flights on Saturday. Owing to the PIA-PALPA dispute, private airlines have started charging exorbitant fares from passengers. The PALPA has declared the appointment of the incumbent Director Flight Operation as illegal. The PALPA office-bearers said that pilots are being meted out injustice, but the PIA administration is not ready to hold talks. A spokesman for the PIA has expressed ignorance about suspending of licenses of two pilots. Talking to the media in Islamabad on Saturday, PIA Chairman Nasir Jaffar said that strict action would be taken against the protesters. He said that the protest of the PALPA is beyond understanding.
