513 new hybrid buses to run in provincial metropolis, says Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi

LAHORE (92 News) - Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said that 513 new hybrid buses will run in provincial metropolis.

The 20th meeting of Punjab Mass Transit Authority held under chairmanship of Chief Minister Punjab in which auction policy of Punjab Mass Transit Authority and construction of offices of Punjab Mass Transit Authority in Dera Gujran approved.

Chairing a meeting, the chief minister said that these buses will be operated by private operators for which 200 new bus stops will be constructed. The routes will be determined keeping in mind the working hours of the educational institutions of the students.

He has also ordered to reserve seats for women, special and blind people in new buses and directed that seats should be allocated near the bus door for special and blind persons.

The chief minister said that in the past, the experience of transportation system at the government level had failed and there was negligence in creating a sustainable transportation system.
