ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Former accountability court judge Muhammad Arshad Malik died of coronavirus on Friday

He was being treated at a private hospital in Islamabad. He was in a critical condition and on the ventilator for the last two days. His funeral will be held in Mandra.

Former judge Arshad Malik had sentenced Nawaz Sharif in the Al-Azizia reference and acquitted him in the Flagship reference.

In a press conference, PML-N vice-president Maryam Nawaz had released a video of the judge and levelled allegations against him. However, Arshad Malik had denied the allegations in a press release and submitted an affidavit in the Islamabad High Court.

Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Athar Minallah had removed Arshad Malik from his post and Federal Law Ministry had repatriated him to the Punjab government. The Lahore High Court Administrative Committee had dismissed him from the service on misconduct.
