763rd Urs of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar starts in Sehwan Sharif

SEHWAN SHARIF (92 News) – The 763rd Urs of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar started on Saturday. Sindh Adviser Dr Abdul Qayyum laid the ‘chaddar’ on the grave of the saint. Talking to 92 News, Dr Abdul Qayyum said that the soil of Sindh is the soil of dervishs and sufis. He added that special arrangements have been made for the occasion. Jamshoro SSP Tariq Walayat said that foolproof security arrangements have been made for the three-day Urs. Thousands of devotees, mostly from Sindh and Punjab, thronged the shrine on the first day. A special session of Mehfil-e-Samaa will be held during the Urs celebrations. Meanwhile, five people were killed in two different incidents. Three people drowned into canal while two died of heatwave.
