76,445 ‘wanted’ persons in Punjab roaming freely: Report
October 19, 2016
LAHORE (92 News) – The Punjab police have failed to implement the National Action Plan (NAP) as 76,445 wanted persons have not been held so far. A report of Punjab police made disturbing revelations regarding ‘wanted’ criminals in the province. According to the report, at least 76,445 wanted persons are out of hands of the law and are roaming freely. The total number of wanted persons in Punjab is 110,892 while Punjab police could arrest only 34,000 suspects. The wanted persons are accused in various crimes, including murder, robbery, and targeted killing. The accused of kidnapping for ransom are also free. The Gujranwala region has failed to arrest those wanted in capital crimes. The conference of regional police officers held to plan the implementation of the plan also went in vain.
