SEHWAN SHARIF (92 News) – The three-day celebrations of the 767th annual Urs of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar started in Sehwan Sharif on Wednesday. Sindh Governor Imran Ismail inaugurated the Urs by laying a ‘chaddar’ on the grave of the saint. Thousands of devotees from across the country paid homage to the shrine. Talking to the media after inaugurating the Urs, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail said that the province is intact due to the prayer of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar. “I am fortunate that I paid homage to the saint at his shrine.” The governor said that it was wrongly being said that the federation is not giving funds to the province. “Sindh is getting its share under the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award,” he added. Strict security arrangements were made on the occasion. As many as 5,000 police personnel and 1,000 Rangers officials have been deployed on duty whereas walkthrough gates have been installed at all the entry points of the shrine.
