8 PML-N lawmakers quit party, launch movement for South Punjab province

LAHORE (92 News) – Eight lawmakers belonging to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), including five MNAs and three MPAs, announced to quit the part and launch a movement for a separate province for Southern Punjab. Addressing a press conference on Monday, MNA Khusro Bakhtiar said that their press conference is the announcement of creation of a new province. “Punjab comprises of 52 percent of population,” he added. He said that there were 14 provinces in India and now they had risen to 29. Tahir Iqbal said that a separate province should be created for to end backwardness in South Punjab. He said that he had left the party over the Khatm-e-Nabuwwat issue. MPA Nasrullah Dareshak said that they would knock at each door to make the movement a success. He said that they are laying the foundation for the stability of Pakistan. MNA Mir Balkh Sher Mazari said that the people from far-off areas feel difficult in visiting Lahore. Rana Qasim Noon, Tahir Iqbal, Tahir Bashir Cheema, Raza Hayat Hiraj, Sardar Ashiq Gopang and MPA Amir Talal Gopang also left the party.
