800 lawmakers yet to submit asset details as deadline approaches

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Today is the last day for the members of the parliament and provincial assemblies to submit yearly statements of assets and liabilities before the election commission. According to the Election Commission of Pakistan, around 800 members of the parliament still have to submit their asset details with the ECP. The parliament members are showing apathy in submitting their asset details. Around 360 members of the parliament have so far submitted their asset details with the ECP including Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, PTI chairman Imran Khan, Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid, Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, Chief Minister Balochistan Abdul Malik and PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi. The election commission shall notify by 15th of next month the names of members who fail to file the required statements. Secretary Election Commission said that the date will not be extended, while the parliament members who failed to submit their statements would be stopped from doing work.
