ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Facebook has removed about 85 percent blasphemous material at the request of Pakistan, the government Monday informed the Islamabad High Court (IHC).

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) resumed hearing of the case relating to the blasphemous content on the social networking site.

The court earlier ordered the government to take action against the blasphemous content. "Facebook is already complying and has taken down about 85 percent contents we pointed out. Banning Facebook is not the solution," he said.

He further informed the court that the Federal Investigation Agency has arrested three suspects for their alleged involvement in publishing blasphemous content on social media.

Justice Siddiqui appreciated convening a meeting of ambassadors to brainstorm the question; however, he added, ‘Why was the ambassador of the country where this activity actually took place, not invited?’

The judge asked State Minister for Information Technology Anusha Rehman to explain why the matter has not been resolved yet.

The court adjourned the hearing till March 31.
