87 deaths, 3,179 new coronavirus cases reported during last 24 hours

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – As many as 3,179 more cases and 87 deaths were reported during the last 24 hours as the second deadly wave of Covid-19 pandemic continues across the country.

According to the data available with the National Command and Operation Centre on Saturday, 36 deaths were reported in Punjab, 32 in Sindh and 10 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The condition of 39 patients is stated to be critical.

As many as 48,075 tests were conducted during the last 24 hours. With 87 casualties, the death toll has increased to 9,250.

According to the break-up, there are 202,983 cases in Sindh, 130,706 in Punjab, 54,448 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 17,880 in Balochistan, 35,905 in Islamabad, 7,937 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and 4,814 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar also tested positive for coronavirus and quarantined himself in his house.

On the other hand, smart lockdown has been imposed in Gulshan Iqbal and Jamshed Town areas.
