92 News obtains CCTV footage of Karachi's Maskan Chowrangi blast

KARACHI (92 News) – 92 News on Thursday obtained the CCTV footage of the blast that occurred in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area due to gas leakage.

It is pertinent to mention here that the blast took place at a bank situated on ground floor of a four-storey building, killing five and wounding more than 20 persons.

According to the CCTV footage, the pillars of the building fell on road after the blast. The smoke spread everywhere. Two flats on first floor were completely collapsed and one was partially damaged in the 105-falt building.

The impact of the blast was so severe that windowpanes of the nearby building were shattered. Vehicles standing nearby were also damaged along with two other banks on ground floor.

The investigations are underway to know how the gas leakage cause of this severe explosion.  The institutions investigating the matter showing doubts that how a gas leakage can lead to such massive destruction. The teams of police and the SSGC will visit the crime scene today again.

In its preliminary investigation, the bomb disposal squad termed the explosion cause of gas leakage.

On the other hand, the case of the incident has been registered at the Gulshan-e-Iqbal PS on the complaint of the Bank branch manager.

The incident took place in a building near Abul Hassan Asfahani road Gulshan Iqbal on Wednesday, leaving a portion of the four-story building collapsed. A loud blast rocked the area in the morning and impact of the explosion shattered windowpanes of the nearby buildings, according to witnesses.
