9th Muharram mourning processions taken out across country

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The 9th Muharram mourning processions were taken out to pay tributes to the great martyrs of Karbla across the country. In Karachi, the main procession was taken out from Nishtar Park. In Lahore, the main procession was taken out from Islampura. The Tazia and Zuljinnah processions were taken out with reverence in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan and other cities. The mourners beat their chests and self-flagellated. Stringent security arrangements had been made on the occasion. The mourning processions were monitored by CCTV cameras. On the other hand, mobile phone service remained suspended in Karachi, Hyderabad, Peshawar and other cities during the processions. Pillion riding is banned in Lahore, Karachi and other cities. The Metro Bus service also remained suspended in Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Multan. However, the Metro service was partially suspended in Lahore.
