RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Replying to the comment of JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman regarding the march of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) towards Rawalpindi, DG ISPR Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar said that the PDM will be served tea on Rawalpindi arrival.

Replying to questions during a press briefing on Monday, he said that they would serve the PDM tea and water if the PDM came to Rawalpindi. "The reason for the PDM march towards Rawalpindi was beyond understanding," he added.

Iftikhar said that the army is the sub-institution of the government and he has always avoided giving political statements, however, he clarified that the allegations being levelled against the armed forces are baseless. "The armed forces have performed their duties in a responsible manner and honestly during elections," he mentioned.

He said that armed forces should not be dragged into political affairs. "In case of any suspicions, the concerned institutions should be contacted to resolve the issues," the DG ISPR maintained.
