Prime Minister Imran Khan hints at amending social media rules & regulations

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has hinted at amending the rules and regulations for the social media. During a meeting, the Information Ministry briefed the prime minister about the social media regulations. The meeting mulled the reaction of the public and social companies on the regulations. Sources said that the prime minister had directed to make the possible amendments. In 92 News Program ‘Ho Kaya Raha Hay’, Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood said that the social media is unbridled, but they have no intention to control it. He said that legislation for the social media will resemble the policies abroad. Meanwhile, Provincial Minister Saeed Ghani said that the federal government cannot dictate the Sindh government about the local government system. “It is power of the provincial assembly to formulate the law as per conditions,” he said. He said that it was not appropriate for the PTI to direct the Sindh government for the rectification of the local government system. The minister said that all parties, including the PTI, had participated in the law formulated by the Sindh government.
