Six-member coordination committee formed for resolving problems of Sindh

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The federal and Sindh government have agreed to form a coordination committee for resolving the problems of the province, including Karachi. The committee will comprise of three members each from both sides. Federal Ministers Asad Umar, Ali Zaidi and Aminul Haq will represent the federal government, while Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, provincial ministers Nasir Shah and Saeed Ghani will be from Sindh. Both governments will consult each other about the projects in Sindh. Addressing a press conference after a meeting of representatives of both governments, Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar said that Sindh and Centre would present the lists of their projects and a final list of the projects would be prepared in two weeks. He said that it was mandatory to work jointly for the resolution of the people's problems. We have severe differences with the Sindh government, but have no difference in the development project, he added. The minister said that the prime minister had sent the NDMA to Karachi during the rains which the resolved the issue immediately. We have to find out the solution of the problem permanently. The PM has emotional affinity with Karachiites, he maintained. Asad Umar said that he was glad that they had evolved consensus. It is the third meeting with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Shah. We discussed the issues of clean drinking water and sewerage today, he said.
