A majority of four million foreigners in Pakistan is unregistered, says Ch Nisar

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Interior Minister Ch Nisar has said that where then rulers were when hundreds of people came to Islamabad under the garb of non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Addressing the Senate session on Thursday, he said that his government has made registration compulsory for foreign NGOs first time. “About four million foreigners live in Pakistan and a majority of them is unregistered,” he said. He claimed that there is no American pressure in the matter of the NGO Save the Children. “Had there been any American pressure we would have not touched the issue,” he maintained. He said that several unregistered foreign NGOs have been working in Pakistan for years. “These NGOs were also involved in anti-Pakistan activities,” he said. The minister said that he was ready to present the 15-year-old record in this regard in the House. He claimed that the government has taken notice of NGOs working against Pakistan sternly. “Now registration is compulsory for NGOs working in Pakistan,” he said.
