Khawaja Asif remanded in NAB custody for 13 days

LAHORE (92 News) - An accountability court on Thursday remanded Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leader Khawaja Asif in the NAB custody for 13 days in assets beyond income case.

Khawaja Asif presented before accountability court. During the hearing, NAB told the court that an inquiry is ongoing against Khawaja Asif regarding his assets and he failed to provide a satisfactory response to the authorities.

The court approved 13 days physical remand of Khawaja Asif.Court amd directed relevant authorities to provide homemade food to Khawaja Asif, medical facilities, as well as allowing him to meet his family members and lawyers.The PML-N workers were also present during the hearing.

According to the documents and reasons issued by the NAB behind his arrest, Khawaja Asif had purchased 40 kanal land and plots in Cantonment Housing Society.

Khawaja Asif also owns two apartments in Islamabad. He invested an amount of Rs 813 million in different companies. His family received cash deposits of Rs 226 million.
