ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Additional Attorney General Zahid Fakhruddin Ebrahim tendered his resignation on Wednesday. In his resignation sent to President Dr Arif Alvi, he said that he was resigning in protest over a reference against judges. “I cannot compromise on the dignity of the judiciary and cannot continue work in this situation,” he said. The complaint had been filed with the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) against senior judges of the Sindh High Court (SHC) and the Supreme Court (SC) under Article 209 of the Constitution on the pretext of undeclared foreign assets. Maryam Nawaz, reacting to the resignation of Additional Attorney General Zahid Fakhruddin Ebrahi, said that the judges announcing verdicts as per laws instead of government directions are being removed.
